GarageDekho Partner ("Partner App", "we", "us") is operated by GarageDekho. This policy explains what data we collect from garage owners and mechanics who use the GarageDekho Partner app, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Account and Profile
- Name, email address, and mobile phone number
- Garage name, address, and business details
- GST number (optional, for invoicing)
- Profile and garage photos
- Services offered and pricing
Location
- Precise GPS location while the app is in use - to match you with nearby SOS requests
- Background location during an active SOS job - to share your live location with the customer so they can track your arrival
- Garage registered address (entered by you during registration)
Job and Earnings Data
- SOS job history (issue type, distance, fare, timestamps)
- Earnings and payout records
- Ratings and reviews received from customers
Device and Technical
- Device push notification token (to alert you of new SOS requests)
- Device identifier (to enforce single-device login security)
- App version and crash logs
2. How We Use Your Information
- To match you with SOS roadside assistance requests near your location
- To show your live location to a customer during an active SOS job
- To calculate job fares based on distance and your service rates
- To process earnings and generate invoices
- To send push notifications for new SOS requests and job updates
- To verify and approve your garage listing and service pricing
- To display your garage profile to customers looking for nearby service
- To prevent fraud and enforce platform security (including single-device login)
3. Location Data - Important
The Partner App requests background location permission. Here is exactly when and why:
- Foreground location: used at all times while the app is open - to rank nearby SOS requests by distance
- Background location: only active when you have accepted an SOS job and are navigating to the customer - to share your real-time position with the customer until you arrive
- Background location is NOT tracked at any other time
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your phone's Settings app
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as follows:
- With customers: your name, garage name, phone number, and live location are shared during an active SOS job so the customer can identify and track you
- With Supabase: our database and authentication provider (data stored in India/Singapore region)
- With Razorpay: payment processing for earnings payouts (subject to Razorpay's privacy policy)
- With regulators: if required by Indian law (GST, income tax, court order)
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and job data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal profile data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised transaction and earnings records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance as required by Indian law.
6. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in encrypted Supabase databases. The Partner App enforces single-device login - if you sign in on a new phone, the previous session is automatically signed out. We recommend not sharing your login credentials with anyone.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate profile or garage information (via the app's Edit Profile screen)
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw location permission at any time via your phone's Settings
